Frequently Asked Questions

You have three options: (1) Connect your Gmail account for automatic scanning of confirmation emails, (2) Forward confirmation emails to your unique TripTrack email address (found in Settings), or (3) Add trips manually by tapping the "+" button and entering details yourself.

Absolutely. We use bank-level encryption (AES-256) and OAuth 2.0 for Gmail integration. We never store your email password, and we only read confirmation emails from travel providers โ€” nothing personal. Your data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.

TripTrack supports 500+ airlines and hotel chains worldwide, including all major carriers and booking platforms (Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, etc.). If we can't automatically parse a confirmation, you can always add it manually.

Once you add a flight, TripTrack automatically tracks it in real-time. You'll receive push notifications for gate changes, delays, cancellations, boarding calls, and baggage claim updates โ€” often before the airline's own app notifies you.

Yes! Open any trip, tap the share icon, and generate a shareable link. Anyone with the link can view your full itinerary in their browser โ€” no app download required. Perfect for sharing with travel companions, family, or colleagues.

Point your camera at any receipt and tap the capture button. Our AI automatically extracts the merchant name, amount, date, and category. You can edit any field before saving. All receipts are organized by trip and can be exported to CSV or PDF for expense reports.

Yes, you can cancel anytime through your iPhone Settings โ†’ [Your Name] โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ TripTrack. You'll retain Pro features until the end of your billing period, then automatically revert to the Free plan. No data is deleted.

Yes! All your trips, reservations, and receipts are stored locally on your device and accessible offline. Flight tracking and AI concierge features require an internet connection, but your core itinerary is always available.

Not yet, but we're actively working on it! TripTrack is currently available on iOS (iPhone and iPad). Join our waitlist on the homepage to be notified when we launch on Android.

Open the app, go to Settings โ†’ Account โ†’ Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your trips, receipts, and data. If you have an active Pro subscription, make sure to cancel it first through iPhone Settings to avoid future charges.

Getting Started

Welcome to TripTrack! Follow these steps to get up and running in minutes.

Download the app

TripTrack is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad (iOS 16+). Search "TripTrack AI" or tap the link above.

Create your account

Open the app and sign up with your email address or Sign in with Apple. Your account syncs your trips securely across devices.

Add your first trip

Tap the + button on the home screen and give your trip a name and dates (e.g. "NYC Business Trip โ€” March 2026"). You can always edit these later.

Add reservations

Inside your trip, tap Add Reservation to add flights, hotels, car rentals, or activities. You can import them automatically from email or enter details manually.

Enable notifications

When prompted, allow push notifications so TripTrack can alert you to gate changes, delays, and check-in reminders in real time.

Explore the Today tab

The Today tab shows everything happening right now โ€” your next flight, hotel check-in, weather at your destination, and any active alerts. It's your travel command center.

Import Trips

TripTrack can automatically pull your travel reservations from your email so you never have to type anything manually.

Option A โ€” Connect Gmail (recommended)

Go to Settings โ†’ Connect Gmail and sign in with your Google account. TripTrack will scan your inbox for travel confirmation emails (flights, hotels, car rentals) and automatically import them. We only read travel-related emails โ€” nothing personal.

Option B โ€” Forward confirmation emails

In Settings โ†’ Import Email, you'll find your unique TripTrack forwarding address (e.g. you@import.triptrack.ai). Forward any booking confirmation to that address and TripTrack will parse it automatically within a few minutes.

Option C โ€” Add manually

Open a trip, tap Add Reservation, and choose the type (Flight, Hotel, Car, Activity, etc.). Fill in the details and tap Save. Manual entries support all the same features as auto-imported ones.

Review imported reservations

After import, TripTrack shows a preview of what was detected. Confirm the details look correct and tap Add to Trip. You can always edit any field afterward.

AI Concierge

The AI Concierge is your personal travel assistant โ€” it knows everything about your trips and can answer questions instantly.

Open the AI Concierge

Tap the AI tab at the bottom of the screen. You'll see a chat interface where you can type any question about your travel.

Ask anything about your trips

The AI has full context of all your reservations. Try questions like:

  • "What time does my flight to Chicago depart?"
  • "What's the check-in time at my hotel in Miami?"
  • "How much have I spent on this trip so far?"
  • "What's the weather like in Paris next Tuesday?"
  • "What's my confirmation number for the Hertz rental?"
  • "Do I need a visa to visit Japan?"

Get destination recommendations

Ask for restaurant recommendations, things to do, local tips, packing suggestions, or currency exchange rates for your destination. The AI uses real-time data where available.

Free vs Pro usage

Free plan users get 3 AI messages per day. Pro users get unlimited messages. Your daily count resets at midnight in your local time zone.

Tip: The AI Concierge works best when your trips are fully imported. The more reservations you have in TripTrack, the more accurate and detailed its answers will be.

Receipt Tracking

TripTrack makes it easy to capture, organize, and export all your travel expenses.

Scan a receipt

Open a trip and tap the Receipts tab, then tap the camera icon. Point your camera at any receipt and tap capture. The AI automatically reads the merchant name, amount, date, and category.

Review and edit

After scanning, you'll see a preview with the extracted details. Tap any field to edit it. You can also add a note (e.g. "Client dinner") before saving.

Categorize expenses

Receipts are automatically categorized as Food, Transport, Lodging, Entertainment, or Other. You can change the category by tapping it. Categories are used in your expense summary.

View expense summary

Tap Summary at the top of the Receipts tab to see a breakdown of your spending by category, with totals for the trip.

Export to CSV or PDF

Tap the Export button (share icon) to export all receipts for a trip. Choose CSV for spreadsheet use (great for expense reports) or PDF for a formatted printable summary. Both include all receipt images and details.

Free plan limit: Free users can scan up to 10 receipts per month. Pro users get unlimited receipt scanning. Your monthly count resets on the 1st of each month.

Flight Alerts

TripTrack monitors your flights in real time and sends push notifications so you're always one step ahead.

Add a flight

Flight tracking starts automatically as soon as you add a flight to a trip โ€” either via email import or manually. No extra setup needed.

Enable push notifications

Make sure notifications are enabled for TripTrack. Go to your iPhone Settings โ†’ TripTrack โ†’ Notifications and ensure "Allow Notifications" is turned on. Without this, alerts won't come through.

What you'll be notified about

  • Gate changes โ€” notified the moment the gate is updated
  • Delays โ€” new departure time as soon as it's confirmed
  • Cancellations โ€” immediate alert with rebooking tips
  • Boarding โ€” reminder when boarding begins
  • Baggage claim โ€” which carousel to go to upon landing
  • Check-in reminder โ€” 24 hours before departure

Customize alert preferences

Go to Settings โ†’ Notifications in the app to choose which types of alerts you want to receive. You can turn off specific alert types while keeping others active.

Live flight status

Tap any flight in your itinerary to see a live status card showing current departure/arrival times, gate, terminal, and aircraft type โ€” updated in real time.

Note: Flight tracking is available on both Free and Pro plans. Alerts are sent for flights up to 24 hours before departure through 2 hours after the scheduled arrival.

How to upgrade to Pro

Open the app โ†’ Settings โ†’ Subscription โ†’ Upgrade to Pro. Choose monthly or annual billing. Payment is processed securely through Apple's App Store.

How to cancel

Go to your iPhone Settings โ†’ [Your Name] โ†’ Subscriptions โ†’ TripTrack โ†’ Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro features until the end of your current billing period, then revert to Free. No data is deleted.

Refund policy

All purchases are processed by Apple. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com and select your TripTrack purchase. Apple typically processes refund requests within 48 hours.

Restore a purchase

If you reinstall the app or switch devices, go to Settings โ†’ Subscription โ†’ Restore Purchases to reactivate your Pro plan. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
